Child Safety Policy

We in Jennymount take your child’s safety very seriously and will do everything possible to provide a safe and caring environment for your child to enjoy and for you to have peace of mind. While all children are different, and some do not like to be left, we do encourage all parents to leave their children in our care. There will always be a leader in charge, who has had the proper checks, as well as at least one other adult. There are reasons for leaving your child, which are due to safety. If there are too many adults present it makes it difficult to look after the children. Also some children become more upset with several adults in the room. Please trust the leaders and helpers as they willingly give up time to look after the children in the Crèche - your child will be well looked after and will be safe!

If your child is in church for the first part of the service please try to leave for the Crèche when the children go out to Sunday school. This will give you time to return for the remainder of the service.

Accidents

Unfortunately accidents do happen and while we will always tell parents of minor falls and bumps on collection, we will always contact parents immediately if a child is injured seriously.

Special needs

Please inform the Crèche leader of any information that you feel they may need to know about your child. This may range from asthma to other conditions, which your child may have. Children with special needs are welcome in the Crèche.

Fire Procedures

In the unlikely event of a fire in the church or a practice drill, the children will be taken from the Crèche room to the designated area. Please do not take your child from the room and remove them from the group, as every child needs to be accounted for. Leave the church building at the nearest exit and meet your child in the designated area.
